I have a dead lawn which HOA is saying I have to pay to have it replaced and DSLD says by closing on the home I except the grass. I even told them the grass was dead at my walk through and guy said just water it. If you plan on buying a DSLD home make sure you don't expect to buy a new home but a fixer upper. During recessions and housing crashes this is where DSLD will get flushed out. Last night I had to go across the street to tell the worker to turn down the music that was so loud it was like I was in a bar! And if you confront these workers as we have on several occasions, so rude! They build 10 houses at a time, so many trucks on your street and they do care of they block you out. If I had known then what I know now, I would have fought them coming with all my might! They ruined our new home experience by all the issues. And by the looks of all the Better Business review I wish the new home owners well but I do not have much hope for them when their new homes start falling apart in the first 6 months.
This review is to help people out when deciding on a new home from DSLD. So just to give you background of my experience with home builders, my wife and I have had about 15 brand new homes in the past 20 years. Some were homes we lived in and some homes we rented out. The range of homes were from DR Horton to Drees from Las Vegas, Texas, and now South Alabama. Now Baldwin County had a big issue with DR Horton and almost kicked them out of the county from building in the area.
